Colored Raine Cinna-Bae Bronzer ($16.00 for 0.3 oz.) is a medium-dark brown with moderate, warm undertones that lean slightly reddish and a matte finish. The texture was soft, smooth, and silkier than other shades in the range, proven when the shade was more blendable than the majority of different shades. It had a rich color payoff in a single layer and was pigmented to the point where a little went a long way. The best way to apply it was to use a less-dense, more highlighter-style brush and gently pat the color into place, then go back and diffuse the edges. I’d still err on applying this shade over set foundation, but I could use and blend it out successfully–on the first try! and consistently!–over bare skin. However, I needed more effort than the average powder (blush, bronzer, or contour). This shade stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to be a matte bronzer. However, the brand also touted it as multi-use, so the powders could be used to brighten, set makeup, contour, or as an eyeshadow, depending on your skin tone concerning a given shade. The formula should be “buttery smooth” and provide a “smoothing and pore blurring” effect.
It felt smooth enough to the touch but slightly drier, which I’ve found is a texture that is often harder for me to blend out. This was true with some of the shades–to varying degrees, –and it was easiest to apply it ovey matte skin/foundation, e.g., overset foundation, which made it more forgiving for blending. Iy reminded me of my texture AND experience with h Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer.
At its worst, the product would adhere unevenly wherever I first applied it, budged, t not wanting to diffuse or blend out. I had the best luck blending out the shades more consistently by gently tapping on a product where I liked the most coverage (but not diffusing, blending, or sweeping!) and using a clean buffer brush to mix more vigorously. The formula is most suitable for someone who always applies their bronzer over matte or set foundation and has no desire to use it over bare skin/luminous foundation.
They were very pigmented to the point where a little went a long way, so using a lighter hand would be an excellent way to start using this formula and then adjusting as desired. When everything blended out, it looked matte and smooth, though almost flat-matte on my normal-to-dry skin. They lasted between seven and eight hours before fading visibly.
