Cherry Up
ColourPop Cherry Up Glossy Lip Stain ($8.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a more muted, medium red with subtle, warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. The gloss appeared more generous and almost brownish when swatched. Still, it developed a pinky-red stain underneath, making the overall color only a little warm-toned (within a couple of minutes).
It initially had a lightweight, more watery consistency, which became slightly thicker and tacky after a minute of wear. As marketed, it had medium, buildable pigmentation that applied evenly and stayed on well for five and a half hours. There was a light stain that lingered for another hour or so.

It’s supposed to have the “long-lasting powers of a lip stain” with the “shine of a gloss” paired with “medium to buildable coverage” that is “non-drying.” The initial texture was almost watery and overly spreadable (and the applicator often picked up more product than necessary, so take care during application). Still, it dried down to a more satiny shine that was less glossy and more like satin lipstick with some clarity.
The initial shine wore off within two hours, so it looked like an authentic satin finish–this was true of doing nothing or just taking a drink of glass as it wasn’t transfer-resistant. Left to their own devices, most shades wore around six hours with a faint stain left behind. The color did not power through a meal and tended to leave a solid ring around the edges of my lips as it wore away so quickly while eating.
It had medium, buildable coverage but quickly built to more semi-opaque coverage without an official second layer (just going back and forth to get an even product layer). Some shades were more faithful to medium, and others were more semi-opaque from the first layer. There didn’t seem to be any added fragrance or taste while worn. Roll Out
ColourPop Roll Out Glossy Lip Stain ($8.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a bright coral with warm, orange undertones and a glossy finish. It looked redder on my lips as the underlying stain was more warm red than coral/orange. It had medium pigmentation in a single layer, which was buildable to opaque coverage with a second layer.
Initially, the texture was lightweight, thin, and more watery but developed into a more gel-like, thicker feel that was slightly tacky. It wore well for five and a half hours with a moderate, warm red stain left behind and felt non-drying overall.
