ColourPop Sugar Snap & Ice Pop Glossy Lip Stains Reviews & Swatches

Sugar Snap

ColourPop Sugar Snap Glossy Lip Stain ($8.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a light-medium, peachy brown with warmer undertones and a glossy finish. It had semi-sheer pigmentation, buildable to medium coverage with a second layer. The texture was thin and somewhat watery, but it was more prone to clinging to my lips, unlike other shades. As a result, it emphasized the surface of my lips more than different shades. After a few hours of wear, this had a subtle, reddish stain, but it was minimal and disappeared quickly, so the product lasted around four hours overall.

It’s supposed to have the “long-lasting powers of a lip stain” with the “shine of a gloss” paired with “medium to buildable coverage” that is “non-drying.” The initial texture was almost watery and overly spreadable (and the applicator often picked up more product than necessary, so take care during application). Still, it dried down to a more satiny shine that was less glossy and more like satin lipstick with some clarity.

The initial shine wore off within two hours, so it looked like an authentic satin finish–this was true of doing nothing or just taking a drink of glass as it wasn’t transfer-resistant. Left to their own devices, most shades wore around six hours with a faint stain left behind. The color did not power through a meal and tended to leave a solid ring around the edges of my lips as it wore away so quickly while eating.

It had medium, buildable coverage but quickly built to more semi-opaque coverage without an official second layer (just going back and forth to get an even product layer). Some shades were more accurate to medium, and others were more semi-opaque from the first layer. There didn’t seem to be any added fragrance or taste while worn. Ice Pop

ColourPop Ice Pop Glossy Lip Stain ($8.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a medium pink with warm undertones that turned brighter and leaned slightly pinker when applied and left to ” et”  “little. It had medium, buildable color coverage that lasted for four and a half hours, while the stain lingered for an additional hour but didn’t make it through a meal. The texture was lightweight, spreadable, and thin without being too watery, but it was more prone to streaking and getting into my lip lines as it set slightly (and then felt somewhat tacky and a touch thicker).
