YSL Radical Chili (308) The Slim Velvet Radical Matte Lipstick ($39.00 for 0.08 oz.) is rich, coppery-red with warm undertones, and a satin finish. The texture felt velvety and smooth, dense without being heavy to wear, and had enough glide to apply for even, opaque coverage in a single layer. It stayed on nicely for six and a half hours, left a stain behind, and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

The formula is supposed to have “full coverage” with a “long-lasting semi-matte color” that has “creamy comfort.” They were very pigmented with a moderately dense, creamy, velvety consistency without sliding around. The substance/density of the product helped the product sit more smoothly on my lips and helped them be less prone to emphasizing lip texture and settling into my lip lines.
The lipsticks were comfortable to apply, and while the diamond-shaped lipstick was unusual, I did not find it challenging to work with. Most shades lasted at least five hours, with some lasting six to seven hours and some staining behind. They had a fruity, floral scent but no discernible taste. The formula felt lightly hydrating over time.

YSL Fatal Carmin (309) The Slim Velvet Radical Matte Lipstick ($39.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a deep red with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. It had rich color coverage in a single stroke, which applied comfortably across my lips without tugging. The texture was dense, slightly more substantial, but not heavy to wear, which gave it excellent glide and a velvety creaminess as it didn’t have a lot of traditional creaminess/slip. It wore well for seven hours, left a stain behind, and felt lightly hydrating over time.
