Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to West Bengal Live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting West Bengal today on the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. His visit to West Bengal assumes significance as today is the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji. After reaching Kolkata, PM, Modi visited Netaji Bhawan at Elgin Road. He will address the ‘Parakram Diwas’ celebrations in Kolkata to commemorate the occasion. The Prime Minister will preside over the ‘Parakram Diwas’ celebrations at Victoria Memorial in Kolkata. To honor and remember Netaji’s indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation, the Government of India has decided to celebrate his birthday on January 23 every year as ‘Parakram Diwas’.

The prime minister earlier distributed 1.06 lakh land pattas or allotment certificates at Jerenga Pathar in Sivasagar of Assam. Speaking at Sivasagar, PM Modi said that the double-engine BJP government is committed to the overall development of Assam. He said that the allotment of land pattas is a step towards ensuring the rights of indigenous people of the State. In a tweet yesterday, PM Narendra Modi said that the Government is committed to doing everything possible to preserve the rights and unique culture of the great State of Assam. Assam had 5.75 lakh landless families in 2016. The present Government has distributed 2.28 lakhs land pattas/allotment certificates since May 2016. With one lakh more land pattas distributed today, around 3 lakh 30 thousand landless people have their land in the State. The PM also praised the Sarbananda Sonowal government’s handling of the COVID crisis and urged people to vaccinate when their turn comes. PM Modi said that the Centre and state government are committed to achieving 100 percent electricity and LPG coverage and supplying running water to all the households of the State.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to West Bengal Live: PM in Kolkata to celebrate 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kolkata, a permanent exhibition and a Projection Mapping Show on Netaji will be inaugurated during the 125th birth anniversary celebrations. The Prime Minister will also release a commemorative coin and postage stamp. A cultural program, “A, MRA Nuton Jouboneri Doot”, will also be held based on the Netaji theme. Before this event, Prime Minister will visit the National Library, Kolkata, where an International Conference, “Re-visiting the legacy of Netaji Subhas in the 21st century,” and an Artists’ Camp are being organized. Prime Minister will interact with the artists and conference participants.
